Hi!
Id like to share with you with some thoughts about my latest EDC purchase. Ive always been impressed with Wayne Goddard series of Spyderco. Of course I refer to the first series that was released a couple of years ago. Nice polished micarta, perfect satin finish and "old-style" look is has always been a must_have_classic for me but I couldn't get one anywhere. And yesterdy Ive found one (mid size) in an "airgun & military accesories" store in Netherlands near Amsterdam! Of course my decision was easy
I must say that I really like the touch of class and some special care you can find in this particular Spyderco. First of all, the pins and blade axle are mirror polished and create one smooth surface with the scales. Than the opening hole is nicely smoothed on the edges so it's really comfortable. The spine of the blade is slightly rounded just like the spine of Sebenza. And Wayne's signiture on the blade is nicely etched and left black inside. Of course I dont even have to mention the smooooth action and flawless finish. It just fits my hand like a glove. OK, now bottom line Ive handled a lot of modern Spydercos: small Navigator, huge Military and a lot in between. But this Wayne Goddard is simply the nicest Spyderco Ive EVER handled, period. And I really dont understand why they discontinued this one after a short run some years ago. Now some illustrations for your pleasure:
