I have come into some money and would like to buy a Sebenza. (OK I really want a XM-18 but you know the deal finding one of those. I'm in Canada to boot). I am looking for a large Sebenza with Micarta(pref) or wood inlay. Don't want a plain. I have purchased from and been happy with True North Knives many times but he is just out of stock for what I want. KnifeArt.com has Micarta but not wood. I want to shop a bit. Can anyone please recommend a similar outfit as these two? Don't want to buy second hand. Thanks.

Sebenzas are locked in at the same price everywhere, so pretty all the standard online knife stores will do (New Graham, GPKnives, Knifeworks, BladeHQ) but call CRK, I'm sure that they'd be willing to point you in the right direction, if not take your money right there, maybe.

But personally, I would buy one second hand, that's a lot of money for a knife and it'd be a shame to find out it's not the one for you, plus you wouldn't treat it like a safe queen if it had already been loved on a bit.

But that's just me.

Grand Prarie Knives has some really nice Sebenzas in stock right now, always had excellent transactions with them.

finding the right sebenza can be tricky. first i would advise you to go to the sebenza pic thread on bladeforums and figure out which sebenza you want. there are so many varieties. then go to the chrisreeve website and go to the dealer section ... there are like 30 listed...many of them with websites with current offerings. i got my limited edition spalted maple from plaza cutlery. its awesome. the trick with sebenzas is finding the one that you love so you need to do some legwork. also...dont be afraid to call the chris reeve tel# as they are making one for me and their turn around time is less than a month.

I am aware of the price issue and am fine with it. It is availability I am addressing. I will be using it, not hiding it. Store suggestions are what I need and you gave some. Thank you.

I wasn't calling your poor or anything, just trying to help you out, man.

Good luck with the knife.
