okay the power hammer i bought and hauled home on saturday it turns out is not a 25lb little giant but a 50 pound little giant. is this good or bad for a knifemaker? i have heard stories that the 50 can be more temperamental.

I was taught how to make damascus with 50lb. LG, I have a 25lb. Either one will work fine. All my tools are tempermental, just have to get use to them..............like a wife.

You better hope Tess doesn't catch that post man! She will be using scrotum hide for the next sheath!

I have had three tools....hehehe..and got rid of all of them for being temperamental or mental.....

Doc

Hell Doc, she'd probably post the same about me. :D

Congrats on the 50lb. Just figure you'll be smashing steel that much quicker.

HaHa! You just cant get enough of these hammer posts huh Mark? :D

Geebus! Everyone seems to be scoring those little whanger-bangers! I'm going to have to get me one I guess. I was holding out to buy a bluhammer, but danged if I might just have to get a LG instead.

Dont even think about it Higgy. You might have a dirty hippy sneeking around your house in a blue ford pickup.

You wouldn't have to sneak, Mark. You're welcome here anytime. :D

Jeffie! Try a LG first. If you decide on a air hammer, but sure to at least try it out first for a while. I have a Blu you are welcomed to buy and that back North with you later this winter, if you make it this far South. Mine is the old style Blu, and I don't care much for it, but it may be because I'm more used to my LG. Todd Fischer loves his Blu, he's got the new version. I think I could upgrade mine to the new type, with a kit from Kayne and Sons ($600!), but I'm not going to spend any more money on it. You'll love a LG.
