I just received today, two (2) Buck 110s that were represented to me by the internet dealer as being left-over BG-42 blades. When I received the knives (flawless, perfect, very well done) I recognized them as a limited production model with nickel bolsters and partially serrated blades, but did not believe that the particular model came with BG-42.

I called Buck CS, immediately got put through and the gentleman agreed to check records, speak with a more senior staff member and get back to me. Literally minutes later, I got a call back, confirming all specifications about the particular model, including production year (1997) and the fact that the knives in question were of Buck's fine 420 high carbon, but not BG-42 as the dealer had represented.

It was probably an honest mistake on the dealer's part (who immediately agreed to refund all, including shipping) . Point is, whether or not you know a dealer ... it's good to know that if it says BUCK on it, there is a good company, with good people always there.

I'm already a long time Buck fan, so it's not like they won over a customer, merely endeared me even more. Keep up the good work, as I know you will.

Sounds like what you got were the 110NX models. They were the Sportsman's Guide overruns, brown handle, NS bolsters, partially serrated blades. Nice knives but certainly not the BG42 models. The ones you are referring to are the 110SP3. I still have a few left.

My father has taken a personal interest in our customer service department. He is team leader...does not get any higher focus than for him to be team leader...

Glad they responded. That is good work.

I will forward this link to Fred Wilson, our customer service manager for his info.

CJ : Thank you.

Is your dad going to make it to Greensboro, NC for the OWAA?

I still have his picture, taken with me, that made the front page of the newspaper in Sioux Falls last year.

In Him
