I am a relatively newcomer to the H.I forums and have had something sharp n' shiney on me since before I was two digits old. I have learned alot and the big thing is personal preferance. Folders are easy to carry, fixed are outright reliable and Khukris are way handier than I ever imagined. I don't like anything with a "snap in the sheath" I prefer friction. I have a variety of blades, from Chris Reeve to custom. Khukris are custom in my mind, Forged pieces of functional art from honest hard working people.

I guess this thread is to pay homage to people who deserve the praise, from the Kami who lovingly makes the Khukri to the soldier, farmer or average Joe who might wield it.

and of course Himalayan Imports for thier unwavering support, kindness and hospitality. ( I can't seem to say thank you enough)

Share a line or two if you will...

I recieved a WWII today...the thing is beautiful...not quite as point and shoot as the BGRS Villager. The suprise was getting a wee tiney, yet impeckabley detailed Khuk, wrapped in a piece of paper with complimentary, written on it.

I pay quite a bit for shipping...I pay even more to get it to the door. Yangdu is more than fair by adjusting the quotes. Today with the arrival of te WWII I got this small little complimentary Khukri that has me floored...It is about 9" long. Made like a regular Khukri... I think it could work as an EDC!!! certainly as good as a folder but more bullet proof. I will take it to work tomorrow and use it with pleasure.

That is the legendary treatment that makes loyal customers and brings us back time and time again.

Sounds like a Bilton...yup...great little knives.

(9" is little? *Only* here!)

I've heard of this before on this forum. There is lots of generosity here. Lots of good people.

To say that HI has great customer service is an understatement...I'm glad you experienced it too Rick!

I love the fact that buying them helps people too. can't beat that combination.

Good customer service is also a excellent business practice.

Take Dillon reloading press for example. They cost at least 30% more than other presses offering in some cases even better features. Some Dillon presses are a bit problematic to learn to use and set up.

But when you call them with a problem..... You will be hooked for life. They GLADLY and KINDLY spend hours on the phone with you on a 1-800 number working with you to solve a problem with even a second hand press. The warranty is fully transferable and life time no BS. You will never spend another cent on apart for a dillon press.

I would never consider buying any press but Dillon blue unless they did did not offer what I need.

99.9 percent of Dillon customers feel this way. So do customers from HI.

I wish more retailers felt this way......and I wish more customers wanted it this way. Most people don't. Just look at the crowds at Walmart.

That's what keeps us coming back. Those bent blades are unbeatable and the service is simply unprecedented. Enjoy!

Chris
