Just looking for a good pocket stone I can carry around in my backpack or pants.
I am reading good things about Spydercos and Fallkniven but I wanted some more info/recommendations before I buy.

There are plenty of small/pocket Arkansas stones out there. Norton, Smith, Case, Buck, Spyderco. They all have theyre systems and will work fine for simple revival. There's a lot of diamond but I wouldn't recommend them as they create scratches much deeper and are subject to premature edge failure. I wouldn't trust my entire sharpening to them but to revive your edge in a pinch they are good. You could also carry some small squares of sandpaper in your wallet for the same purpose.

A nice simple two sided stone that is small enough to carry anywhere is the Spyderco Double Stuff! :)

DMT Mini Folding in E Fine
Hones an edge very easily

Inexpensive
Very light and tough, not fragile like a stone
And has a carrying ring to attach to your kit

DMT puts out a lot of good pocket options, their card size sharpener, mini's, diafolds, etc. So check out their website and see what interests you. If I had to pick just 1 grit, it be Fine, second choice be Course for when I damage a blade, followed by Extra Fine as my third pick.

Other option is to pick up one of those diamond sharpening rods that are the size of a pen and retract out.

I carry a Norton Small Sportsman India stone. they're 4 dollars or so. Cut kind of rough, but they'll smooth up with use or a bit of a lap with a diamond stone.

I have relied on the Lansky dogbone/triangle shaped "Multi-Sharpener" for years. Also the ceramic filament from a sodium light works wonders for touchup.

i carry this little stone, that was cut down from a bigger one, its about 800 grit, and it has a feint sulfurous smell to it, but it can touch up s30v, 1095 and d2 just fine.

it's about the size of a fallkniven dc3 cut in half, and just a tad wider.

Fallkniven DC4 is what I use. It is the bee's knees. Diamond on one side if it is chipped or very blunt. eramic for touch ups.
It needs no lubricant, & is hardd to break due to a steel centre. The ceramic doesn't clog as easily as Spyderco.

I carry one of these in my pocket to keep my carry knives sharp.
