Good Present Combination?

I am getting ready to purchase two knives as a present combo for a friend. She wants something large for all types of outdoor jobs, and something smaller and quite fast for concealed self-defense. During the day she does a lot of large landscaping work for a landscaping company. She has two machetes her company provides for help in removing debris, but god do they suck. Many times the sections of tree left over from taking one down need to have some work done to make them more transportable. For this task I was thinking the BM-E. For the self-defense I was thinking the Satin Jack, one because I also want a SJ badly, and it looks to be one fast a** knife.

She is fairly petite, but in oh the right way :) This made me decide that the BA would probably be a little too bulky for her to carry around. She is much more the pants & shirt girl, rather than dresses every day.

She loves her job more than anything, and since she asked for two knived for these purposes, they are what I want to give as a birthday present, rather than a pointless bunch of cd's or shopping trip to the mall.

Think this is a good combo?

Dark Nemesis,
If she is very small you might want to consider the SHIIE instead of the BM. Its a little lighter. But if she swings a machete for part of the day I can't imagine the a BM would be to heavy for her.:)
Have you seen the pictures of the Pure Bred Fighter series? The Killer B looks to be a nice hide out knife. Plus they were designed as a fighting knife.
Good luck,
Shawn

She can definately handle a large blade with ease :) Working hard all year round has given her more than enough strength to handle a BM class knife.

I'm thinking of getting the BM-E with crinkle coat since its going to take a severe beating every day all year long, and the Satin Jack in the Limited edition. Might let her see which finish she likes most though.

Anyone think the Mean Street might be better suited? Can always try to hunt one down. She's not much for collecting knives so it would get used just as much as the Satin Jack.

Unfortunately Stacey won't touch folders. No matter what I show her, she doesn't trust them at all. If she did I would hunt down a Strider AR for her without a second thought :)

I'm with Shawn. I feel the Killer B would be more suited to EDC self-defense. If you aren't on the mailing list and haven't seen pics, I'd be happy to post some of it. It is also quite a bit less expensive than the SJ, though by your knife choices I doubt that's a large factor :) .

That girl of yours sounds like the just the kind of person to truly appreciate a Busse :D .

Yep, I was on the mailing list and love all three, but how far out are they from being released. I know we can place orders now, but wasn't sure if they were like three months or six months out from delivery?

Oh yeah, she definately will appreciate he quality of Busse's :) Her team does some unbelievable custom landscaping work. As with any job, ya gotta have the right tools :)

Dark Nemesis,
On the bottom of the email for the Pure Bred Fighter series it said "Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. Offer ends 9/30/01." You could always call the shop and ask for delivery date.

Shawn

Cool !! I deleted the emails same day them came by mistake, so I never had a chance to read it all.....
