Good Price for BK5?

Was looking on Amazon and saw the BECKER BK5 HERE for 76.69$ Is this a good deal? don't remember my other Beckers being this high priced?

Not a good deal, and not a good idea to post links like this on this forum. It's called dealspotting and the mods don't like it.

Check Tomars for a much better deal.
 
I went to Tomars. But there are a bunch of places to get one from. A lot of people have brought up problems with their knives got from Amazon, but you never know, you might get a good one from the :)
 
That's actually cheaper than tomar's when you factor in shipping. I have had good luck with Amazon, I received a BK7 that is near perfectly ground. It's better than any of my others including one from Ethan himself.
The imperfections on my others are miniscule and go unnoticed w/o scrutiny.
 
Whoops, forgot about the shipping part. But still, edit that link outta your post, as I said, mods don't like that stuff.

I paid 70.99 for mine and then 9 bucks shipping from Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop.
I have always had good experience with them.

well, where you buying them at?

almost all the big Beckers are in the $60s and $70s. that's just the price point.

barring the san-mai model which is up there in price, everything else currently is a small fry, and priced about 1/2 of the big boys. again, that's just the price point.

now, for you collector types, some of the old school stuff commands prices over $100. especially for out of production models, or variants that just aren't like the current stuff.

BK10? $150. there ya go. price point :)


considering everything production is under $80 or so right now based on street prices, well, it's hard to go wrong.

Buy Becker
