So I'm a bit of bag and pack junky. My girlfriend has a habbit of buying cheap crappy purses that fall apart after a year or so. I keep telling her she needs to let me get her a Maxpedition Versapack or something but she thinks they're ugly (What do women know?). Anyway I want to get her a nice purse for Valentine's day but I want it to be something both stylish (Whatever that means) but bombproof with lot's of pockets and decent storage in the main compartment. It needs to be easy access as she has motor skill problems. So can't use anything with tons of buckles or snaps or webbing. Maybe something with a decent middle cargo area and some velcro accessorie pockets on the outside. Needs to have two short shoulder straps. Leather is cool, nylon is cool, canvas is cool. Just want something that can take a beating. Would appreciate any ladies here chiming in.

Thanks

I'm no lady...

Wife has a leather purse from Overland Sheepskin Company. It's not a "girly" purse, but no one will mistake her for a military-wannabe, trust-fund hippy, or goth-troll either. Unfortunately I can't seem to find one like it at their website to show you. I was a soft leather with lots of dividers and a secure zipper. Maybe find something similar at Eddie Bauer or LL Bean?

Wife is buying herself a Wii for Valentines Day. In return, I bought myself a new computer monitor. :D

My wife has never complained about any Coach product I have ever purchased her. She has both a red and black Hobo bag that see a lot of carry time.

I get my girlfriends black canvas satchels from the surplus store. One small and one large. They are cheap and have lotsa pockets so the important stuff doesn't get buried. I think FOX is the brand that they're imported and sold under.

My wife also likes Coach, and Monsac. They are both quality leather products. I don't know crap about handbags, but I do know quality leather!

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

My wife has a lot of purses, but the one that I notice has held up the best is her Cartier. It's made of quality leather and has seen a lot of use over 15 years and still looks great.

Coach purses are also nice and seem to be favorites of the ladys...

Put "stylish" in the rules and you basically ruled out every single good piece of equipment we of the practical side of humanity (=males) could possibly think of .

Get her a regular woman's purse. Easier, cheaper (sometimes) and has all the above qualities. Ok, maybe not the bombproof part but then you have one more present option to get her for next year.

Coach has always been a winner as a gift to girlfriends. See if there's a Coach outlet store nearby, you can score some really good deals.

Dooney and Burke is another popular brand that you might want to look at. Not horribly expensive as designer purses go IIRC.

If you've got some serious cash to drop you can't go wrong with Prada or Louis Vuitton.

If you can't find one with enough pockets or whatnot, I've seen "purse organizers" which are like a liner that drops into a purse with a bunch of pockets and compartments and what not.

Good luck, but be sure to save the receipt just in case.

Thanks guys for all the advise. I forgot to mention that she LOVES pink. I found what I was looking for from a company called Kipling. It's pink, 420D Nylon, with internal organizer and can convert from cross body to arm carry. It's got zippered outter pockets and is pretty well put together. Sigh... if only Maxpedition made a pink Devil Dog. Here is it incase any of you guys are thinking about getting a decent bag for your chick. And I wished I could afford Coach, or Cartier, LV, or prada. Those damn things cost over 200 bucks. I don't love her that much ya'll LMAO!

If she carries a hand gun Galco has a full line of concealed carry purses.
