Hello I am trying to find a good reliable hunting knife. Something that has a good blade, that is long (atleast 3 1/2 inches) and that is a lockback with a nice looking wood handlegrip. The reason for this knife is for a present to my dad. Some knives that i am thinking about are the buck 110 folding knife and the gerber freeman folder. These are excellent looking knifes but the thing i am looking for is a bigger blade. If anyone has any good hunting knifes or know of any this would be very helpful. He usually goes into the woods and just throws it in his pocket and pulls it out for when he needs it. Thank you for all your time..this is my first post so please no hate :p

buck 110 is a good choice. the knife has been around forever for good reasons. for a bigger blade on a lockback boker and cold steel have some good knives.

No hate here. Will try to make sure it stays that way. The USA-made Gerber Freeman folders are an excellent choice. Don't buy the Chinese ones, though.

Would you consider a fixed blade? So many more options available.

Hard to top a Buck 110 for a "hunting folder" they've been a flagship model for Buck and an American classic for good reason. If you wanted to make it really special you could go over to Bucks website and build a custom knife through their custom shop, however that could wind up being a bit spendy.

yes i was thinking of getting the Gerber because i saw how you can have a laser engravement which would be very cool to have his initials in! and i enjoy fixed blades but unfortunately my dad does not... Thank you for all the responses everyone! all very helpful :)
