Good Scissors?

I was kind of surprised to not see any threads about scissors in this section.......

Now that I am on my new journey into the knife world, what comes to mind next are a good pair of scissors. My wife uses scissors many times during the day working with her yarn, and I would also like a good pair for working with paracord and the like. We have a few pair of Fiskars scattered about the house, but with my new love of quality knives, the next natural step is a couple nice pair of quality scissors. Or are Fiskars as good as it gets?

Where to start looking? Recommendations?

I have recommended KAI shears/scissors before and will again. For you, general purpose I would start with the N5150 for heavy duty cloth, leather, and such. I have a set of Boker USA shears I use in the shop for odd things, but not heavy duty stuff. Paper is terrible on edges, so try to keep a dedicated set just for that.

I found a set of kitchen shears by Henckels and they seem quite nice for general chores and the were very affordable. I sharpen them approximately annually and they still seem great after about 10 years of use. I recommend them often for a typical (ab)user;)

+1. We own two; one for the kitchen that cuts chicken, fish, basically anything heavy-duty shears are called for, and a smaller pair of round nosed for personal care.

Dovo makes some very nice shears. These are my 9 inch .
