I know not everybody has happy endings, but it's worth giving companies a shout-out when they do something right. Here are two solid service experiences I just had.
Kershaw
Bought a Cryo G10. I'm a lefty, and the package did not include the longer required screws in the package to mount the clip on the G10 side (ok, maybe they should, but debatable because lots of extra cost for them to include extra screws for a situation that applies to maybe 1 or 2 out of 10 knife users). Contacted service, they promptly sent longer screws. Problem solved.
Spyderco
A Native G10 I've had for several years. Never could get it to open smoothly, adjustments failed. Send it back to to Spyderco, returned fixed in < 2 weeks, new pivot mechanism. Now it opens perfectly smooth, it's the Native I always wanted. They even returned the $5 shipping I was required to enclose with the knife. Problem solved.
P.S. No I'm not a plant for either of these companies. Just appreciate when somebody stands behind their stuff.
