Good sissors for workshop?

I wish I could remember what I was cutting at the time but I broke a pair of sissors in my workshop the other day. I had to apply medium to hard pressure and KAABLEWWEY! Plastic everywhere!

It's not the first time. That's OK, I needed new ones anyway. Most ones I've used get really loose in short order.

I've got a set of Mundial Kitchen Shears that I like but the blades are a little short for most things and I don't like the wierd cord/bone cutter at the base of the blades. Besides, those are staying in the kitchen. Still, I might buy another pair of those unless anyone has any suggestions.

Just general use. I cut a lot of sandpaper and emery cloth with them, gun patches, cardboard... but they also have to be able to cut REGULAR sissor stuff well; like wrapping paper.

I was thinking about finding a good sturdy model and then buying a few pairs for around the house, homeoffice and shop.

Fiskars, SoftGrip

they run $20 in walmart up here, and after popping a spring out take about 2 seconds to dismantle(1 phillips screw) to sharpen.

I never had sharp ones at work, these have made it about 5months so far.

Isn't that blasphemy on this forum? I never use scissors! Even for wrapping paper and "REGULAR scissor tpye stuff" :D

After cutting sandpaper you can't expect it to do fine cutting like wrapping paper. Get two pair, one for fine and one for heavy duty. They do make ceramic scissors, maybe by Kyocera but they are very expensive. I picked up a heavy duty pair ,stainless steel made in pakistan for $6 ! for leather and cardboard . For sandpaper I use an old junker.
