Good Slippie Manfuacters

Queen and their various subsidiaries, German Eye, Bulldog, then there are tons of manufacturers that are either out of business or have moved offshore. Schrade, Camillus, Keen Kutter, Buck(most are China made now as I understand it, but still of decent quality from what I hear), Imperial, Hen&Rooster, etc. etc...

Seems to me that slipjoints don't have as many quality issues as "tactical" knives no matter who the maker is they're usually pretty decent. That could have something to do with the target market being a little more discerning or picky about things, or just conjecture on my part. With that said, I can't think of too many makers that you could go wrong with, but there are plenty good ones that I'm sure I've left out. Hopefully someone else will come along with a more thorough reply.

Well, I won't mention any that are associated with the thorn in RAT's side ;) , but Canal Street Cutlery and Great Eastern are a couple of cos. producing some quality stuff, and they're made right here in the U.S A.

Actually there are more now than 10 or 12 years ago. Add Amherst and Blue Grass to the list. Northwoods is also putting out some great knives too. I am sure there are some that are not coming to mind at the moment that others will fill in.

Out of Texas comes Moore Maker, a truly fine "working" knife.

Welcome, gundoger.

Moore Maker is not really a manufacturer (though I have a handful of their knives I like quite a bit). Their knives are (and were) built by Queen, Camillus and Bear.

Buck, Case, Moore Maker, Boker, Eye Brand, Kissing Crane, Rough Rider, Bear, Queen, Great Easstern, Canal Streat, Colonial
