Well I'm down to one belt and it broke. Who
has a good source of 5-15 micron grit belts?
Jantz seems to have the 2" wide stuff but
not the 1". Can you help?

Try supergrit.com
I'm not sure they have what you're looking for (no online catalog I don't think) but they offer a large selection of abrasives.

I'm still looking for the belts. I've
found some 600 grit (30micron), but am still
actively looking for the 3-15 micron
range. I've goot some sheets, but don't
feel comfortable creating my own
belts. I had a belt self destruct
once while I was using it.

GearFreak, you will get better answers to this question from the knifemakers in the Shop Talk Forum.

I would move this topic there for you, but the move function is frahoozled right now.

Try Jantz supply. I think they had 1x30 in Sc up to 800 grit. If you have a 1x30, you are most likely doing flat or convex grinds. 600 or 800 should be high enough, then sandpaper should work well, or use a buffing wheel.
