Hey guys. I usually try to keep 3 or 4 of the 6" white glow sticks in my kit. Unfortunately my girlfriends daughter felt they were more fun to play with when the lights went out a week ago. Since I've replaced them with some green ones from wally world but I really prefer the white. Any of you guys know a cheap source for them. I'd like to buy about 30 or so to just go ahead and stock up. I find I use them ever so often and I've read they have a shelf life of about 5 years. Would appreciate it. I found a place selling them 25 for $16.00 but then they want like $14.00 shipping so that's not much of a deal. I've hear Cyalume are the best... are they any better than the generic ones I'm gonna find anywhere else? I mean it's just peroxide and diphenyl oxalate... how hard is that to screw up? Would love to find a source for diphenyl oxalate so I could make my own Glow Sticks.

When I looked around, I found the same prices from several places 10 sticks for $10-12. What I usually do is wait until I order something else from CheaperThanDirt, or US Cavalry, or REI, or any of those places, then I throw a 10-pack on my order.

One place where manufacturers could vary is the grade of PE used in the outer vial and the thickness of the glass on the inner vial. This could mean the difference between a stick working, and one that broke open in your pack that is now "dead".
