Stopped by an estate sale.... in the garage I
spied (see what I did there) a familiar blade
(G2 Seki City) hanging on the peg board.
Gently lifting it off I asked one the ladies
selling the gear how much she wanted for
the knife. She said " oh that.... I just hung it
up there so the children coming thru would
not play with it.... you can have it ". " Are you
sure ?" "Yes" . The blade is inscribed "Rob
Bettisworth".
…. Rob, I will take good
care of this knife, promise .

Congrats!

Looks like a Gen 1 Delica Clip-it FRN G2 SE (C11SBK) made sometime between 1990-1994. Looks like it will still function as a decent user.

Is the molded FRN clip on the back still intact?

Sgt..... the FRN Clip is A.W.O.L.. but the silhouette reminder remains . Thanks for the born-on-dating .
The blade serrations are still nasty sharp.

I have a first model SE Delica in G2 that I bought new nearly 30 years ago. It’s stayed wicked sharp over the years.

Good find!

A few months ago I was at a similar sale and in a glass display was a sparkling Jot Singh, box and papers...

After bringing it home (a little too happy) I noticed a slight discoloration/melt on the G10. Long story short, sent to Golden and it turns out to be a fake. Spyderco was very kind and shipped me a big coupon, that's how I got my Province.

Be careful out there!! Lol

Nice one! Recently got the gen1 delica and it’s a nice knife. Still feels solid and love the pointier tip. Almost decided to carry it today but decided on vintage CS knife! 😁

Rob Bettisworth : "Honey where did you put my Spyderco ? It was a gift from my father and I cannot find it anywhere"
