if anyone ever builds a stainless grinder dont use 304 unless you plan to weld it. tapping this stuff is a pain even with moly-d. ive still got to find someone to tig the uprights and figure out where/how to mount the tracking arm. this one will have an 8'' drive and a 5'' idler. i made the front end a little short so a 14'' contact wheel will still fit.

yep, that's the base that i need welded to the uprights. i could have left it a square, but what's the fun in that? got to have a good foundation.

you have been making some awesome equipment!:thumbup:(so when do we get to see the knives? or are you just torchering us with sweet machines?;))

it's still illegal for me to make and sell the knives i want to make. not too long though, not too long. better to set up shop and be ready for when that time comes.

Mike,
If you mean illegal on Shop Talk, you can still post photos, just no sales talk. If you mean illegal because of some law, then that is a different issue.

Get that belt grinder complete, put on a ceramic 60 grit and watch it chew up those planner blades !!! Beautiful work you are doing on that machine, Mike !!!
