I would go with the Cold Steel SRK. It's extremely sharp, tough, decent for utility, fighting in any grip style, throwing - whatever - a pretty good all around knife for about $50 (check cheaper then dirt's website for the best price).

The blade is 6" which is pretty close to what you are describing you use for trainers. Balances on a finger, directly in front of the handguard - so just slightly blade heavy.

If you want concealment though, get a high quality folder. Or a punch knife.

For My daily FMA carry i have a Spyderco Chinook II folder , a Yojimbo Folder or a Spyderco Ronin fixed blade. Both are designed by FMA practicioners as users. Don't go to a very big blade, once you go into Hubud you need a shorter agile blade.

For largo Mano i have a heavely customised CS Machéte with cord wrap handle, extremely sharp, and flexible.

I know the training blades we use in FMA are the larger type double edged knives? but i always train with a trainer from the actual knife i carry in daily SD carry. They laugh with my "small" blades but i don't want to grow reflexes towards a big blade and suddenly fall short should i need to use my SD knife in a alteration.

Train with what you use

Bullish decide on what type of knife you need. Folder or fixed blade. If you are looking for a fixed blade there are many fine knife makers here in the makers section. I would definitely go with a custom over production any day. You will be able to get alot of knife for your money with a fixed blade for $200
However it will be hard to find a custom folder for that money. Around $300 will get you there. Owning a custom is a really enjoyable. So what do you need? Willrise those Mad Dogs are truly awesome, I own a few.
