Good starter metal detector in the $200 range

I am looking for a metal detector for my father. He is still active but has had back surgery so it should be easy to carry and use. He has never owned or used one before. Any suggestions?

I used to have a Tesoro brand one. It was really light and had a good discriminator to not dig up too much trash. Check on ebay and do a search on White or Tesoro. White is also good metal detector. Should be able to find one for 200 used.
 
Thanks. There is some good info there. Most of the recommendations were a little pricey, but the Bounty Hunter Tracker IV was mentioned and seems like a good deal.
