Hi Everyone,

First off, thanks to everyone that answered my last thread on recommendations, it was a great help!

I have a good friend that is going away for a while that I'd like to get a decent knife. He really likes my strider PT, but I can't dump $300 on a knife for him right now. I would like to keep the price of this knife to below $200

Other requirements:

Length: 3" or lower (law requirement where he's going, supposedly)
Steel: S30V or D2
Lock: Preferable frame lock, but this isn't a strict requirement
Handle Material: Ideally titanium, but again not a strict requirement.
Weigt: 2-2.5oz ideal, 3oz max

He played around with my Spydero Sage 2 but he didn't like using the spydie hole to open the knife, so I would also like to find a knife that has thumbstuds.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks for the help :)

I have two of them, and they are very much worth the money. FYI, though, they're getting harder to find. . . .

With those kind of requirements I can only think of the Bradley Alias II. Ti framelocks are pretty heavy in general and you would be hard pressed to find something under 3 oz unless its a tiny knife. Maybe the Spyderco Leafstorm would be good if you are ok with g10/ti framelock but its got the spydie hole deployment. Very light and strong with a 2.5'' blade.
