If you haven't seen them yet, check out "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire." Really fantastic post-apocalyptic books, and a lot of W&SS elements packed in. In "Catching Fire" they even mentioned pine needle tea! :D
 
Tom Brown's books are good IMO. I read some of them when I was younger. "The Way of the Scout" was a favorite. They have a heavy spiritual side which may turn off some readers, but I liked his survival inspired stories about becoming a scout nonetheless. He talks about tracking and pressure releases, sneaking around with natural camoflage, making stone knives, and lots of other stuff.

To paraphrase his philosophy, -he does not consider himself being in a survival situation unless he has absolutely nothing, no clothes, shoes, or even a knife upon entering the wilderness -from there, he makes everything out of nature and "survives." To bring anything for him would just be called "camping." True or not, they are inspiring stories.
