According to the weather website it is a mild 8 degrees today and was dry when I left the house.

When I arrived at my hiking spot, however , it had started raining hard and all I was wearing was my Swannie over a wicking t-shirt and some Cordura hiking pants.....hardly ideal but I figured it would be a good test for my Swannie !

The trail had become a stream in parts....

The weather didn't seem to bother Maisy and Snicker...

As I climbed higher and higher my clothes quickly became soaked through but both my Swannie and pants did a great job of keeping me warm if not dry. Maybe my shirt should now be called a Swanwet !

As we reached the top you could see what was the cause of all the rain, there were thick grey clouds everywhere....

Someone always asks what knife I had with me, today I had my little ML Survivalist in my pocket. Even with gloved hands the full sized slabs enable a nice positive grip...

Even though it's all blurry I had to show this pic of Maisy barking at me to give her a treat when we reached the top !:D

Back at the parking lot the rain had now washed most of the remaining snow away !

Man that sure looks cold and wet, but worth going out for a hike for sure  I was super lazy this weekend. Weather was in the low 80's and I didn't even get out for a quick walk :grumpy:

I'm jealous. It was -18 F when I was out moving around in 3' of snow in northern MN yesterday at my cabin!

If it wasn't for the dogs I'm sure I'd be the same. I'm now working 4 12 hr shifts on then get 4 days off so my dogs only get short walks for 4 days and are like coiled springs by the time my days off come round !

I actually find it easier to dress for really cold snowy weather than I do for this mild wet stuff that we get so much of !:(

Swanndri is just awesome isn't it? Good to see it doing so well in my PNW homeland:D I'm just suprised your ML wasn't rusting in that picture...pretty wet hit:eek::D

I just got a Green Swanndri a while ago and love it.Yours is a neat color!
I've been going wool more and more. Nice pics Pit ;)

Good stuff Pitdog. I took advantage of the day after Christmas 50% sale on swanndri. Managed to get 3 wool sweaters, a wool/fleece hybrid jacket and vest and the merino long underwear. Its great stuff and at half price it was super cheap as well!

How were those gloves? Seems your hands would get extremely wet. More
of annoyance than anything.

LOL, they were soaked through and I noticed something today for the first time. When my fleece gloves are wet and I clench my fists, water runs out of them but when I did it with my wool gloves the wool just soaks it back in again !

Good pics as always. Would you be willing to take a few pics of working with your tracker knife? I'd like to see more of what it's capable of,and I'm sure I'm not alone in that.

I have always liked your Swanndri. They can be a bit on the expensive side, but you have to pay for quality gear. I really like the color of yours, but when I have looked for some online I haven't seen that color.

No problem, I have a knife on it's way that I'll compare it with !;)

great stuff Pit... looks like time well spent as usual.. love that Maisy dog too..:)

on another note.. how is the sizing on those Swandri's.. do they run big or true to size??
