Hope Ken doesnt mind me steeling his picture. Doing some browsing and came upon a post that had a knife I made in it. It was made for a repeat customer and he has the knife in his outdoor kit! Great to know your stuff is getting out and in use ;) The one I made is the rosewood handled knife on the left.

Thats a very nice design. Looks like it would be confortable to use. I like the temper line too. It is nice to hear from people that they actually use your knives. Congrats.

It is a great feeling, knowing your creations are in use. A chef/resteraunt owner purchased a filet knife from me early this year and in his e-mail told me of the high end company it was going to reside with. I thought , what a shame, it wood end up in a display case. The next e-mail read," recieved the knife , love it, took it to work, cut up sailfish, sea bass and veal it maintained a beautiful edge. Thanks again, ------- It made my day. I can relate. Fred

You know, I can apreciate high end, safe queen, look at it through the glass but don't even think about touching it, but what realy makes my day and what realy makes a customere apreciate a knife is when it's put to use. That to me is the ultimate apreciation.

Congratulations Brian! That's a great picture. I too know how good that feels. I made a couple of knives for a buddy at work, used deer crowns from one of his hunts for the handles. One knife for him and one for his 10-year-old son. He's had them about three seasons now and every hunt he gives me photos of him and his son with their knives out by their take. :) I get to sharpen and clean them up at the beginning of every season and it's a wonderful thing to see how good care he takes of them. They're still virtually like brand new and the sheaths are beginning to get a little field worn, that cool scratched and spotty patina leather gets after riding on a belt for so long. (I do kind of duck my head a little when I see those sheaths - they weren't all that great back then. :o) He's a nice guy and I'm getting quite a file of emails from him extolling the virtues of his knives. :D He calls them by their serial numbers, "51" and "53".

It's a great feeling, eh? I can't imagine what it'd be like to find a picture of one of my knives in someone's field kit, that's gotta be the best reward yet. Way to go man!

how big a hat you wearing today Brian :D
I picked up the Blade mag the other day. Kim did a good job on the write up. C@@L man we won't be able to contain you before long. :p
the stories will keep coming more and more, enjoy them, they make the differance, they buy them, they use them, they know what they had before
to use. it's good stuff to hear. :)

Dan,
for me its full circle. My grandfather got me into knives before I could even have any. I'd say 6 years old. Now I am making a difference in the lives of others. Man what a feeling!

Hooray for Brian! Yep, you deserve kudos, fella. I like that knife, too. Who wouldn't? I have 3 knives going to a gentleman in Kentucky. The first one, he already received and gave it as a gift to his friend that lets him hunt on his property. His friend Bob is also a collector and put the knife in his safe, saying it is too pretty to use. My pal/customer wants his friend Bob to use it, but he won't. My customer/friend plans on using the other two I'm sending him, thankfully. One for himself, and one for his young son to grow into.

It is sure great to hear things like this - its the kind of thing that puts a smile on any maker´s face.
