Hello all.
Today when I went into work, my co-worker showed me his 'new' knife. He bought a used spyderco FRN delica (full serrations) at the flea market for $20. I too recently bought a knife, a Cold Steel El Hombre. The El Hombre seemed to be an older model as it had big black writing on the blade saying "EL HOMBRE" and had a picture of a cowboy leaning against it. TA-CKY! Anyway, I bought that knife on ebay for $27. Uppon seeing his new piece, I offered to trade. (My knife was much less used, if indeed it had been used at all.)
The Spyderco is fine, but has some scratches on the clip and blade. What do you people think of this trade? I was for it because I wanted a left handed knife, and I more enjoy Spydercos anyway. Are we both winners?

I've got El Lobo, the 3" version. It's really a bit too small. But the Hombre should be a great cutting knife -- thin blade, full flat grind. The Spydie's a great knife, too, so it's really all about who likes what. I'd say the trade was a win-win.

If you're both happy then all is well. I traded a knife a few months ago for a different knife which I felt was far more valuable. The person I was trading with felt they were of equal value, and insisted that he needed nothing more from me to "even it up". We both walked away feeling happy about the trade, which is always the best possible outcome. That's always been my take on trades.

I have the CS El Hombre and as a SD knife I like it, as an EDC Utility/Tactical I would have went with the Delica, on second thought as much as I like Spyderco(and I have a bunch of 'em) I would have kept the El Hombre, but then again I'm right handed so I don't get exited for left handed knives.

It's like Roadrunner said,"If you're both happy then all is well."
