Good Wallet Knife?

I've been toying with the idea of picking up a knife for wallet carry... There's simply no such thing as being too prepared, and by the same token there's no such thing as having access to too many knives at any given time. It's only natural that I'd like the idea of having a backup, backup, backup blade discreetly tucked away in my wallet. I'd truly appreciate some wisdom on the subject if anybody had the time.

Thanks, have a good one

I don't know who's making them now, but there are some out there, steel or ti, like the Snody card, and I'm sure the Crawfords do one, of course the Spyderco. Made to fit a wallet, being rectangular.

The CCT is beautiful. If we can open this up to small but real sized knives, consider the Spyderco Spin and Cricket, and the Boker SubCom series.

I've got one of those credit card knives (link here) and it feels flimsy, the blade isn't particulary tough or sharp but it does fit nicely in my wallet.

I'd have said its a cheap bit of crap, but you know it's gonna be with the 3 dollar price tag - but if it proves useful but just once it would have done it's job..

AG Russell makes a very small knife called the Ultimate Pen Knife. Very light (0.2 oz.) and thin. Handles are titanium, OAL 2". Thinner than a Bug.

Just make sure you remember to take it out of your wallet if you go into areas with "weapons" restrictions.

I carry the AG Russell 2.5 Lockback folder. It is a bit bigger than the Ultimate Pen Knife (have one love it too) and fits nicely in the zippered coin pocket in my Eagle Creek wallet. Sometimes I swap it for a SOG Micron.

I had one of these for awhile. Mine showed up stupid sharp, and I carried it for awhile. I never used it, so I eventually took it out of my wallet. I carry multiple other blades on me every day, it's just not likely that I'd ever need it.

Kubasek makes an amazing, full size framelock that just happens to be the thickness of like 2-3 credit cards. Boker made a production model that's pretty amazing for like $25. They aren't exactly hard use, but for what they are, they are amazingly solid.

I might go a little against the grain here and suggest a Victorinox Aloc Cadet.

It is thin enough to fit in a wallet, but more importantly, you will also have an extra bottle opener (along with a few other tools) at hand. :D

So this thread made me remember the wallet/knife combo that I carried all through high school and college. Graduated high school in 91 - I'm sure administrators would not have been happy knowing I carried this all through my junior and senior year. Totally illegal in my state, but young, dumb and ignorant...NOT recommending this POS, but I just have to share.

It really was a compact little package

Wenger Patriot or Victorinox version. My Patriot is the same length as a credit card and extremely lightweight and I find the main blade surprisingly versatile despite it being smaller than I prefer in my knives.

I like SwissCards, there are different models with small differences in tool selection. The main blade is tiny, but still useful for small tasks, and the scissors, screwdrivers and so on are handy. An alox Classic (with the split ring removed) or one of the super flat Wengers like the money clip would work, too.

Ka-Bar TDI LDK (or something like that), small and flat. Buck Hartsook, tiny shard of S30V.
