I am ahead of schedule, so I am basically goofing off this week. Yesterday frontiertom came by to pick up his knife, and drop off a design he wants made, so we visited for about four hours. Last week I gave my brother the black handle framelock that had a few mistakes on it. You would of thought I gave him a $500 knife, he was so excited! Being on social security he does not have a lot of extra money to play around with (he`s 63). I had an idea on Friday, so I called him and told him to design a knife up to 8" long, and 1" tall, and he could come over a couple of days this week and we would make it together. This morning I had him trace it on the steel, and grind out the profile, and drill the handle holes. Then I ground the bevels and heat treated it. Tomorrow I will clean up the grinds, then let him cut out the handles, and on Thursday, after the handle have glued on, I will let him shape them, and then make a sheath. He actually came up with a nice design, kind of an Americanized Tanto, I will post pics on Thursday. I`ll try to get him in some of the pics, he makes me (I`m 6' 2") look like a dwarf. (he`s 6' 8")

You are a good brother John. I have been giving knives to my little brother, since he was about 11 or 12. He just turned 18, and I gave him a Benchmade 53 bali, a Gossman PSK and a Moore maker sowbelly moose. He wants to make a sheath with me, my father is an automotive upholsterer. We have quite a bit of scrap leather here to choose from, maybe not ideal for a sheath, but we can still learn.

Hey lazybones, get back to work :p

nicely done john, your a pretty great guy, you know

Io'd think the folder'd be worth about $500 to him, if my sister made something and gave it to me it'd be priceless to, does kinda make me wish i had a brother as well...maybe one who was a knife maker :D

enjoy your goofing off, i think you've earned it
