GoPro, Contour, or other Outdoor Camcorder?

One of my daughters is asking for a camcorder for Christmas. She said she wants a normal handheld one, but I know her too well. She skateboards, rollerblades, swims, rides trails on her bike, etc., and I imagine the camcorder getting involved in some, if not all, of these activities. I was looking in the $200 price range, and it looks like the GoPro Hero3 White and the Contour Roam2 are the two main durable camcorders in this range. Anyone want to chime in on which is better? Also, it seems like neither is optimal for one-handed handheld video. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I've been doing the same sort of window shopping. I can't, however, get past the form factor of the GoPro. I came real close to ordering the Roam2 once it is released (shortly), but couldn't pass up a cyber Monday deal on a high end point-and-shoot w/video capability with a $200 discount. So, I eagerly await a Lumix LX7... :)

I'm working on a project using Go Pro 2 and now 3 underwater and they work great... once you figure it out for yourself; their documentation frequently runs months behind the product. But the product is great. The 3s are producing some really great underwater images.

I have the second version of the GoPro. They are awesome for daytime action and very tuff. They suck at night time/ low light shots. I cant say if they fixed that with the current version, I hear they are better.
