Does anyone have any info on a maker by the name of Gordon Chard. His name has came up a couple of times lately and I have never seen any of his work. Any information or pictures of his knives especially automatics would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hope that helps some. Have not seen if he has a site.
Have not seen a lot of his work, but what I have seen is very well done.

He is easy to work with, and extremely talented, as well as making a knife with excellent usability and/or quality-to-price ratio. He works full time, makes knives part time, and can usually be reached in the late afternoon/early evening. I own the first knife pictured:

Joss and others have requested that I put photos of my collection on the Forums and/or web.

This post was a little experiment.

Unlike Peter Gill or Murray White, I have no natural photographic skills. It is work for me, and unctuous work at that.

I happened to have the pictures on my hard drive, they were e-mailed to me by Gordon himself. The original poster did not have the courtesy to even acknowledge the photographs.

What this has taught me, yet again, is that people WANT what they have no RIGHT to have, or even reasonable and fair excuse to ask for.

Which is why if Joss or Peter want to see my knives they are going to have to come to my house to look at them.

Just to be clear, I doubt very much that anyone has "natural photographic skills". Like all skills those take work to develop. One may have a natural high for composition, but taking a clear picture doesn't require that - only technical skills.

I understand that you might have no time / inclination to develop that skill. I'm working on that myself, and it's a long process - plus, it's bloody expensive!

If anyone would care to appropriate any of my lousy photos please feel free... it's all good. The more the better!

And, they're only pictures of knives ... :D

but I don't even have crappy photos of most of my knives.

Virtual photo albums by you, and Megalobyte, Peter Gill, and Murray White are all very cool and inspiring, but far more work than I am willing or able to dedicate with regards to my collection.
