Guys: Recently I won a brand new Case amber bone medium sized stockman (6318) on Ebay. I paid my money and the seller mailed me a gorgeous knife. Only problem is, it's not the knife that was pictured in the auction. Instead of a medium 6318, he sent me the more expensive, larger-sized 6375. I've already contacted the seller and his first reaction was to tell me to keep it if I like it.

Well, to be honest, in a way, I do like it - I like it very much. It is the first new Case I've purchased since the mid 1980s and I'm frankly stunned at how nice it is. I had the same experience with mine as Don Bilbanito in this thread. I've said some dismissive things about Case's comittment to QC on this forum over the years and shall use this beefy knife to cut all the crow I gotta eat into little bite-sized pieces. Well, I would ..... but the fact of the matter is, I'm hoping to get rid of it.

See, I bid on a 6318 in CV because that's the size slippie I prefer. This 6375 is just a bit too hefty for me. Anyone have a 6318 in CV they'd care to trade?

Sorry to hear of your circumstance! I have one of the amber bone cv 18's and use it often for work- very versatile and like the bone and cv mixture. Yellow handles are nice but there's something about the amber bone that makes it even nicer!!! Good luck in your search!

mmmh! That larger knife could well grow on you and you got an honest dealer who let you keep the knife.Fact is, you can't have TOO MANY knives....

Actually I do, maybe we can work something out?

Mine is lightly used, but I still have the box.

Will e-mail.

EDIT:You have your e-mail turned off, can you e-mail me?

Not a terrible point, willgoy. (And you're right about the dealer's honesty. As bummed as I am that he sent me the wrong knife, I can at least appreciate that he's trying to make good.) Still, I'd hate to think of this fine knife sitting on a shelf. It needs to be worked hard. And I know that -- while I'll get all kinds of mileage out of a smaller stockman with the rounded bolsters I prefer -- I just won't ever really put this big sucker to any serious work.

E-mail sent, The Last Confederate. Thanks.

Well you are completely right, knives need use! I've no time for safe queens either.
