I've been using g-flex epoxy for laminating scales but it is a bit of a tedious process when working on a few knives at once because of the set up time.I was just wondering if using Gorilla brand super glue would provide a strong enough bond when gluing handle scales to liners. I know a lot of people use super glue but I just want to be sure. :)

I have a thread up on the front page of this section discussing micarta liners/scales. Fiddleback states that he has used ca glue(super glue) to glue together the liners to scales on hundreds of pieces without any issue. I would use that over gorilla glue personally after hearing him say that.

He also discribed some of the steps he uses in his glue up procedure which are really helpful.

Gorilla Super Glue is a high impact CA glue. I use it on my handle pins, arrow nocks and fletching. Tough stuff.

Oh yeah, I'm not talking gorilla glue. I'm saying the Gorilla brand super glue. :)

Gorilla super glue is hands down the WORST super glue ive ever used.
Multiple bottles, varied substrates and set ups, it just sucks. I'll take Ricks advice on it being strong but I really wouldnt know because it takes a billion years to cure.
If its not fast setting then why bother using CA in the first place. Hot stuff or loctite, cant go wrong.

I'm sure everyone has their favorite glue, and favorite brand of CA glue. After 10-12-13 ? years of putting knives
together with both the thin and thick CA and NO failures go ahead and use whatever you want, and I will do the same.

Hmm, I've used it on my wooden spoons and bowls to fill cracks and it always sets up nice and fast...

Gorilla Super Glue is strong but it set up is to fast.

If the scale is not clamped quick enough you while have a larger glue line then what you want.

It works but you can quickly have hours of work in a knife with a stupid thick glue line you do not discover until it is to late.
