I am very happy to announce that HI has a new, very talented Kami that
should delight all you forumites when you see what he sent me as a gift.

His name is Lokendra and his work is outstanding. The gift knife he
sent me is unique and, in my lifetime, I've never seen one like it. It will
stay with me forever.

I am going to ask him to make some more Gorkha Hat knives for your
collections. The handle is beautiful walnut and carved with a head, face and
hat. This Knife would definitely served you well for lifetime. Unusual, but beautiful addition to your collection. It is marked with his Kami
mark, a leaf on the blade.

The overall length is 18.5" and weighs 22 ounces. If any of you are
interested in ordering a Gorkha Hat knife for your collection, the price is
$295 + shipping costs.

HaHa...Wow!
I think that gurkha's looking at me funny....
Thats the first time i've seen a real gurkha khukuri....or would that be khukuri gurkha.

stunning! A real functional showpiece:) I'll have to keep my eye out for one down the road.

Even the chakma and karda in the first picture are elegant. Lokendra is an artist in wood and steel, that is beautiful work.

Thank you Yangdu for offering to share your gift in this way. What could have been your one-of-a-kind, you share with us.

Reminded me of the ex-Gurkha security guard i met few days ago at a hotel buffet; I could recognize him right away not by his stout build but his Terai hat. (No khuk just in case you ask)

Belongs to the Limbu tribe, this is his last year of service in Malaysia and i could see from his warmth of conversing, a gleam of intimidation put me to respect these tough fighters at a different level. There's just something about the silencing glare from them and then an ice-breaking smile.

I'm digging the subtle curves of the blade. Does he make regular kukris as well, Auntie? I'd love to see his take on a Bahadur or Tamang.

...I talk to my father on phone and he told me the Lokendra kami is the best one to come from Dharan and he makes a great Knife...

Another example of his work:
