Got 18" AK in today

Somehow I am sure I will find something to use it for.


It's not that dinky though, the blade lenght is 10" on the 15" and 12" on the 18".

There is a real big difference in the 15" and 18" AK's, the 18" is a BIG knife, alot heavier, wider, and the handle is longer and thicker than the 15".

I am used to Big knives though (Bowies), that's why I wasn't too worried about cutting myself.

It is interesting though that my "puny" 15" AK is bigger than my Bowie Knives.. And the 18" AK is a monster.

And both are beautiful and best of all they are mine..


Thinking about a 20" AK to round off the set, what do you think?

How much did your 18" AK weigh? I have thought about getting one of the 18"ers but, My 18"WWII weighs 30 ozs. so, I didn't figure I needed one.

Wait til you grow up ( just teasing you ) and I'll let you use my Sirupati. The 30" one.

Or maybe you would like to use my 20" Salyan. Eight inch long handle. 12" blade. But the spine measures 3/4 inch thick.

Go ahead and don't believe me. You'll see!

I don't have a scale handy, but it is ALOT heavier than my 15" AK.

I started counting backwards when I was 25, that would make me 13 now....LOL..

There's a place in the world for both 15s and 18s.

If I started counting backwards at 25 I'd be -19. Like I told my favorite cocktail waitress over at the Peppermill, "If I were only 100 years younger.....sigh."
