Have had a 710 for a good number of years but started looking for a new BM.
Considered a few models and a few other manufacturers but couldn't resist the KW version of the 810 in the M390.
And wow, it's impressive!
Read comments about the rough scales on the standard 810 but the 810-1401 is not too rough at all.
At first look online, didn't care for the blue layering but it grew on me and really like it now.
Opens smoothly out of the box and a great edge. Blade is centered, edge bevel just a hair off center but no big deal to me.
I'll sharpen it out.
Blade shape and mass make this thing a cutting machine.
Lockup is tight with no wiggle.
Grip fits my hand perfectly and solidly. Jimping is aggressive but not painful; I like it.
For EDC, obviously, a bit heavy and large for public viewing...but, I've been carrying it every day since I got it.
Just a little heavier than my 710, okay, makes the 710 seem svelte. Which oddly, makes me appreciate the 710 even more.
The 710 is perfect for me but the 810 for heavier purposes is just beautiful. Sometimes, I've got both in my pockets

Glad I picked it up.
