Got a Baby Butterbean yesterday...

I have several "non-traditional" folders that I carry. From a Boker subcom to a Kershaw Cyclone. But lately I was thinking about something more classic, with bone scales. I looked around and really liked the lines on the baby butterbean. The small size is good for carrying in my Dockers at work or the watch pocket in my Levis.

So I picked up a Salmon Limited Edition yesterday. Love this little knife and can't stop playing with it! Looks like something new and fun to collect.

I stopped at Bass Pro Shop yesterday just to peruse the selection of sharp things. I looked at some of the baby butterbeans in the display case and wondered why I didn't have any. Cool little knives....congrats and enjoy.

Hi,

I've also discovered the little 'Beans. They are addicting little monsters. I've acquired 2 Case 'Beans and one Canoe over the last month or so. And I'm looking for more! And while I don't carry them as an everyday work knife, they are perfect for a dress knife for me.

Guard your wallet well. Thomason isn't kidding about the drain!

The drain has begun.

Picked up a Navy, a Brown and a Purple.

I also found what seems to be a Dark Amber Barb Wire. With a XX in a circle shield/logo . From looking on the Internet, these seem to be from 2001. The box they had said "Vintage", which I assume is a Vintage Bone, so it is probably the wrong box, but it also says it is from 2001.

Hi,

I like that one! I saw a similar one and passed on it because I didn't like the looks of the barbed wire. Now I'm kicking myself after seeing yours!

Yeah, I saw the Barb Wire and thought it was real unusual so I couldn't resist. One store I went to also had the Damascus Stag and the Mammoth Ivory Select - tought to resist!

Speaking of tough to resist, they also had a bunch of older Case knives from the 60's on up. There were two Canoes from the 70's that I was really looking over....

I got my first Baby Butterbean last week (my first Case knife as well), and I love it. I too fear I'm going to end up with lot of these. My first was a Johnny Cash commemorative edition, but I'm not sure I want to carry this one (too nice), so I'll pick up another one to carry soon.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting the Johnny Cash for display-only. I am going to carry a couple of the standard current models (brown, purple, navy).

Argh!....and so it begins. I was browsing the SHC website last night and they had one of their exclusive models of the Case Baby Butterbean, the Chestnut/Natural Smooth Bone on sale for $35, and I just couldn't resist. Picked up a couple other Case knives as well. I think I'll try to hold off on more until after the holidays (yeah, like that will work) and put a couple on my Christmas list. The drain continues.....

Oh great, I went and found that site. Now there are a lot more variations to choose from!

Sheperdhillcutlery certainly seems to have the most flavors, thats for sure.
