Got a Benchmade Vex On the Way

I was shopping around for a good sub $30 blade for a friend
and happen to find the Vex at a great price for under $30
($26.95) to be exact. Couldn't pass it up so ordered one
with him.

Hadn't got a knife in a while cause budget has gotten tighter,
but figured this would hold me over for a while.

Heard some great things about it. Wonder how it will compare
to my Tenacious.

Tell me this was a good impulse buy! :D
 
it was a good impulse. I don't have one but my buddy got one for his dad and I checked it out. It was the tanto blade which i don't care for but the handle was comfortable and seemed very sturdy.
 
Good knife for the price. I don't have one but did handle one, and it seemed to be a quality knife for the price, I do plan on getting one to leave in my truck.
 
I picked up a Vex on sale as well. I was quite surprised how nice the fit and finish was on it.

I'm getting one as part of another knife deal. Kinda excited to try it as I don't have a tenacious, and this knife seems to be its main competitor, so it will be interesting to see how Benchmade tackles the same type of knife. The Benchmade uses some different type of steel than the Tenacious, don't they? I don't know if its better/worse, but I thought I read somewhere its slightly different.
 
Hey I am pretty interested in this knife as well, seems like a solid edc/tactical and I love the spydie hole. Where can I find it at that price or better if you don't mind me asking?

I have had 2 of them and given them both away as gifts. I gave them away cause they are great not cause I didn't like them. They are the best red class knife made by BM IMHO. Both that I have given away are daily users and you would have to pry them out of my buddies cold dead fingers.
 
I have hand the Vex and the Tenacious - The Vex seemed to be a better knife to me.
 
Get the Vex. I've played with both and owned the Benchmade version and for the $26 plus change it's a good knife. You also can't beat the warranty that comes with the Vex. Heck, at that price get two!! :thumbup:
 
Thats really an insane price for a knife of this quality. Granted it does not have a "super steel" blade but it nice real thick textured g10, a nice almost full flat ground blade and some of the thickest liners available. In fact before I got my ZT 350 this knife had the thickest liner lock I had seen. Oh and the blade has a rounded spine sebenza style that really looks good. I'd say even if you're used to expensive knives to grab one of these while they're so cheap before they're gone. Because afterall the red class benchmades are history now.
 
For some odd reason when I handle my Vex, it reminds me of my Emerson CQC 7A. I really like it for what it is, Personally if they came out with the exact same model with a high grade steel, I'd be all over it.
 
I don't have one but I've been tempted after buying a Tenacious. Most reviews I've seen have favored the Tenacious over the Vex.

I can see that, as I have a multiples of the Tenacious, a best buy, for the buck for sure. It an awesome knife , but sometimes I like to change things up, and the Vex is a cool blade, I likes them both :D
 
Just ordered two! I figure I can experiment and beat on one and keep the other for a spare, unless my girlfriend snags it! Looks to be about the size she'd like! :cool:
 
The Vex was my very first knife purchase last year and I was pleasantly surprised.
 
I own both the Tenacious and the Vex. I have to say the Tenacious is a better knife but I was surprised how much I liked the Vex. I have it riding sidesaddle on my holster, atm. Pretty damned good knife for $29.
 
I also stumbled across a VEX a while back no box they wanted 25 bucks for it, I bought it on a impulse buy and boy am I glad I bought, best folder I have ever bought for 25 bucks, it gets carried quite often and has seen some use, so far it has taken abuse and hard use and keeps coming back asking for more...
