I like the BK14 I didn't like the noisy sheath so I made a kydex sheath (my first kydex sheath).

Then added a firesteel loop

Looks good!

One thing to note: on the cord you might want to connect the two ends with a cord lock or something instead of having them tied together. If it gets hung up on something you could choke yourself...

All the better reason to have the knife sharp lol .... Yeah I have used cord locks before I might try and get one with a light on it. My brother uses heat shrink tubing to put a small section of bead chain in his neckers.

or you could gnaw on it like mr kitty :)

sweet job :)

get a short piece of elastic cord for your fire steel - it makes a great lock to keep it from falling out accidentally.
also - I use that same lineman's splice for a lot of things - it works great!

I normally use some shock cord thru my firesteels but this mini steel is locked in so tight as to be barely removable mostly ment as a backup. I almost always carry a bic in my front pocket and a army model firesteel on my leatherman sheath. I really like fire. The linemans knot is great its the same I use for attaching leaders when fly fishing.
