Hello,

I happened upon one of these recently, and found there's very little to information about them online. Figured the next best place to learn a little more was here.

It is a beast! I can tell you that much! It has some very faint coloring (blueish around the edges), as if from heat. I have not done the file test to see if it's treated, but I do not think it is. Otherwise, I am hoping I can simply get some thoughts or knowledge about it here. Much appreciated, and take care!

I worked on completing one of those. File test suggested it was hardened, but it wasn't really. Had to have it redone by Peters.

These pop up from time to time. No real collector value. I suggest throwing some grips on it and making her a worker.

it's a fake.

send to me for disposal.

:D

Send it to Todd Hunt (TMHunt). He'll turn it into something truly amazing. You should see what he did with a BK5.

Yeah, I received it in trade pretty much knowing I would be passing it on before long. I have enough projects to last me a while, but definitely more projects than time.
Perhaps it will be replaced with a finished BK4, 7, or 9, much in the same manner I acquired it.
But, as I said before, I know this is the place to show it off and learn a little more about it.

Thanks and take care.

If you don't want it or don't have time to finish it, I guarantee someone here will. I might just be one of those someones...

I definitely agree with Crimson... when messing around with NOS blanks from any company, your best bet is to anneal it and re-heat-treat it to make sure you;ve really got the hardness/toughness you want. Several Beckerheads can deal with that. Again... I might just be one of those someones... ;)

Anyhoo, send me an email (james@terrioknives.com) if you're looking to get rid of it. I'm cash-poor but knife-rich... perhaps a trade of some kind would be amenable...

Hello,

We might have to talk some more on that. Mail coming. :)

Take care.

That looks awesome. I'd love a BK6 someday. I wonder if they'll reintroduce it ever.

Hello again! Thanks for all the helpful replies! After a lot of back and forth, I have definitely, definitely decided not to have this finished, and to pass it on to someone else. I tried contacting James Terrio, but never got a response re: a trade. So, It's on the exchange block to anyone interested. Not really trying to trade up, and not even sure the value window to suggest, so I am completely open and trust the fairness of the good Becker forum folks. My only stipulation would be for a potential recipient to promise pictures of it finished. Feel free to contact me at skynet.gb@gmail.com to discuss.

Thanks and take care!

Oh man I want this... but finishing it would probably cost more than its worth since I couldn't do anything on my own :/
