Now I don't want to open it if it has good collector's value, would be a waste.

Now if it don't collect to good then I got a new EDC knife!

Anyways I just need some advice here.

It's up to you.If it were mine (it aint), I would open it and make the first cut into a piece of steak or other food. Just don't let the edge touch the ceramic of the plate. Wash it up, put it back in its case, and store it or use it.

That's a nice little knife, and if it's one you wanted, then you had plans to use it. I would.

Collectors knives need to be used in order for those unused one to gain value.

Ya I opened it, and I love it.

I'd rather have a great knife at my side then a great knife in a box.

I was being greedy thinking about trying to make a buck out of a Buck knife.

I'll keep the collectors case and packaging in near-mint condition.

its imported from china manufactured by san ren mu... use it and love it... if you enjoy it, than thats all that matters...

goodluck and good purchase...

I don't have a knife collection. I have knives that are used or knives that are waiting to be either used or sold.

In my humble opinion, anything that is made from 440A steel and was sold in a plastic clamshell pack is not going to appreciate very much in value over the years. Might as well use it.

I doubt that it will ever have Collector Value. Use it.

With very few exceptions, there's no telling why or when any particular knife will gain monetary value on the collector market. That being said, anything has collector value, if the collector values it. I think a collection of knockoff and counterfeit knives would make for a fantastically interesting collection. Even if it would not likely have any appreciation in monetary value.

If it gives you satisfaction to keep this knife pristine in the package, go for it.

Don't make me tell my wife about this post! If I even hesitate about using a knife she gets upset. I can't really complain though because she's bought me all my custom knives. She says, "they were all meant to cut... let them do their job!".

The Nobleman is a nice gentlemeny knife. It won't ever be collectible however, as it's made in China by Sanrenmu, who actually sells multiple very cheap variants of it in their local market:

I actually think this makes it very collectible. Especially of one assembles a collection.

Whether it will appreciate in value is another question.

Well, you can easily and cheaply buy the whole set, for example at Exduct. But for me "collectible" means something more sought-after.
Btw, I have both the Nobleman, and a similar Sanrenmu. These are indeed exactly the same knife, simply rebranded as a Buck in the west.
