First impression--The box the knife came in was almost double the knife length. I thought I was in over my head. After seeing the actual knife I felt better. lol!
They are tough knives. almost as thick as a Bk2- not quite. The grind has a nice mirror finish, but the edge is lacking out of the box. I will hit it with my Diamond stones to get it right. I do like the big fat grip! It will be a nice "user" knife for sure! I will post more as soon as I get it outside for a test drive!!

I think you'll love it--it's a great hard use knife that can still slice and handle delicate tasks. It really shines in extended use.

I really like this knife! The ONLY problem I have with it is the uneven grind at the tip. I am handing it over to my local barber supply/expert knife sharpener tomorrow. He said he would take care of it for me. It is a very nice knife otherwise.

Glad it's working well for ya'! Mine is my favorite woods knife and it's an ugly-as-sin first gen. one with a horribly uneven primary grind compared to the nice crisp ones they do now. And you know what? It cuts like a demon anyway! :D:thumbup:

I bet you'll enjoy it a great deal, the 1075 while no super steel by todays standards IMHO has proven to be more than serviceable. It's quite easy to sharpen and is reasonably tough. All in all while I don't own a Rodan I really enjoy my Hudson Bay knife.

I should really get one of those Woodlaws or whatever they are named

My Kumunga is pretty old, and has an edge that looks cool, but is not very sharp at all, specially forward
