Just received 2 Byrd Meadowlarks with G-10 handles from http://newgraham.com/detail.aspx?ID=5656. Bought 2 of them to place in each of the two vehicles my wife and I have. They are for random acts. Went with the partially serrated to cut seatbelts in a snap.
Let me tell you, if you want a beater, this is one of the best bargains you can find. Very comfortable to hold and the G-10 is grippy, but not too scratchy like other G-10s that feels like sandpaper. The steel is supposedly similar to AUS8 which is more or less a step above CRKT at this time and for a much more affordable price. The serrations are identical to Spyderco's. The knife could of arrived a little sharper. Maybe I'm spoiled by Spyderco with the factory scary sharp blades.
The fit and finish of the knife is quite impressive. In par with more expensive brands. The quality really exceeds the price of the knife. Just look at the details like the back spacer. Pretty fancy huh?
Not bad for twenty bucks and some quarters.
