I just received a couple of knives from Mike Snody today and boy am I impressed.

One was a Karma Kozuka in BG-42 with blood red ray skin wrapped handle with a Demon menuki. This knife is beautiful, it is razor sharp and fits my hand like a glove. The four inch blade is hollow ground on the one side and flat ground on the other and it comes in a magnetic sheath which Mike calls his Gargoyle skin sheath (it is wrapped in ostrich skin).

The second knife was a surpise that I must thank Mike for. It is a Fire Ant neck knife. What a little gem. It has what I think is a two inch blade of O-1 and a micarta handle. It just seems to become part of your hand and once again is extremely sharp.

I will try to get some pictures up in the next day or two, but have not posted pictures before so this is going to be a learning experience. I just got a digital camera so I will give it a try.

Thank you Mike, as you can tell I am thrilled with the knives you made for me. We will get together on another of your fine creations sometime soon.

Great taste in knives Keith. I just received a similar kozuka from triple aught design http://www.tripleaughtdesign.com/images/karmakozuka-blood.jpg . This is my second kozuka. I have one in 3v with grey same(thanks sniperboy) that I carry nearly every day. I hope he starts taking orders again soon because my two need a big bro named NARITA

Gentlemen, thanks for your posts, comments and interest in my knives. I am very appreciative. Now would also be a good time to thank all of the forum members who visited me at the Blade Show and purchased my knives. Be on the lookout for some interesting projects on the horizon. I must warn you that your very own Sniperboy has influenced one of my current projects that hopefully will be unveiled in the near future. I am glad that your knife arrived safely Keith. Here is a knife like Keiths with a different menuki.

Thanks to Mr. Nealy for sharing his extensive knowledge with me regarding the use of rare earth magnets.

Those are all beauties! Maybe I'm not as observant as I should be, and I know nothing of japanese knife terms, but whatever it is called, I like the large wrap at the guard position on those knives. I don't remember seeing them anywhere before. I know it would help me feel more confident about not letting my hand slide onto the blade. Those are great. That red rayskin is totally cool!

Are those sheaths the standard ones now? They look great especially for the Japanese style knives. The knives also look great as usual. When are you taking orders again? You need to spend less time on sleeping & more time grinding knives.

Thanks Bugs, The guard is a turks head knot. It is resin impegnated and very strong. It is not traditional, It was popularized by Phil Hartsfield and RJ Martin. Fire Horse, yes that will be the standard sheath for the Kozukas and Kwaikens of the future, It is made of linen micarta and has three 20lb rare earth magnets recessed in the back. The steel boot clip is screwed on using stainless fasteners then wrapped over. It is also available with "Gargoyle Skin" overlays. Here is a picture of the sheath configuration that Keith received. Thanks.

It looks like I just needed to use one link and then the person looking at the picture can choose whichever photo he wants to see. Live and learn.

Maybe someday I will even figure out how to post a thumbnail, but this will have to do for now.

Just thought I would make a correction on something I posted on the Fire Ant neck knife. The blade material is actually ATS-34 not O-1.

After having used this little gem for awhile now I can say without hesitation that it is a great knife. I find myself using it for all my daily cutting chores. I highly recommend that if you are looking for a neck knife that you check this one out.
