Actually O got them a week or so ago, maybe 2. I saw two in the case at ACE hardware, and decided that it was a good day to buy a knife. There was 2 that I wanted, but when it comes to knives I can never make up my mind, so I just got both. Typical of Schrade prices, buying 2 is no problem at all.

Anyways, one is a Gunstock Trapper (I think thats the right name). It resembles a trapper, but is a little narrower and only has one blade. It also has a liner lock which is probbaly not needed, but is probably good for those times when you get a little careless.

The next one is a little single blade and I think its called the Pal. No lock on this one. It pretty much gets swallowed up in the watch pocket of my jeans.

Both knives are solid and sharp. I am very happy with them and continue to be impressed by the value given by Schrades traditional pattern knives.

Richard,
I added a 34-OT to my Schrade contingent about a month and a half ago. Great little knife! I always polish up the backsprings and ends of the bolsters with 600 to 1000 grit sandpaper to spiffy them up a bit, as they come kinda rough. Schrade makes a fine traditional style knife!

Thanks for your comments. We pride ourselves in making traditional patterns at fair prices. That's what Schrade has always offered, and will continue to offer. We will still go above and beyond with some high tech items like the Avatar and some of the custom collaboration knives we're doing with D'Holder and Van Barnett. I think these items help to show off our skills and craftmanship - American craftmanship.

I just received a Gunstock Trapper from Smokey Mountain Knifeworks today and all I can say is, what a great deal. The knife cost $10 (no, that was not a typo). It has a carbon steel blade, fit and finish that is very very good, nice solid feel, and a shape/style that is very sheeple friendly. Up till now, I thought CRKT was the only company with a great "bang for the buck" on reasonably priced knives -- obviously I was wrong! Nice work Schrade. I WILL be buying more of your knives.

Richard, congrats to your new knives!
Though I do not have one yet, I like the Gunstock Trapper with its liner lock single blade. It is also a comfortable size in the pocket.
How does the lock work out for you? What is it made of?
Thanks,

HM
