Well, ontop of ordering me the verizon iphone this morning, my girlfriend brought me out to the local knife shop and let me pick a knife out. All the knives that were left were pretty expensive but she insisted. i actually was looking for the vic soldier (alox). Anyways, ive always wanted to try h1 so it was between the tasman salt or the salt I. I chose the salt I. They had no plain edged anything left really, so i took a full serrated. It will be good for fishing or swimming or just generally being around water i guess.

I love H1 blades. Ive had a blacked out pacific salt for about 6 months now and i gotta tell you that H1 steel is sweet. You will enjoy it.

Out of all my knives the one that got the most pocket time this past year was the Salt 1 in plain edge.

The 2nd most carried is the Delica full serrated.

So, I predict that knife of yours will get alot of use.:D

Ur lucky u got serrated ,the plain edge has below avg retention . I hear but don't own any h1 spyderedged and it, from what I hear has awesome edge retention

yeah they are pretty much maintenance free. ive had mine for over a year and i live right on the ocean, the only thing ive done to clean it is removed the dust and lint out of the knife

Yeah...good choice. I rock a salt 1 a lot of the time. I just find that I don't mind using it for anything since I know that it cannot rust. plus its a work hardened steel meaning that you need to beat the crap outa it for it to get better. Having the serrations hardens the blade a ton too, and spyderco makes some of the best!

Yeah. I've never carried a fully serrated knife before. I normally carry a military, so i'm finding it hard to keep that out of my pocket. How have you plain edged guys felt carrying a fully serrated knife? Any disadvantages or trade offs?

i like to carry a blade of each, normally a large one hand folder with a plain edge and a SAK with a fully serrated blade for string, rope, carpet, what not,
