Well, I finally got my Gayle Bradley last week! It's a great knife! The ergos are good and it is built really solid! I mean REALLY solid! Beautiful knife and man, that m4 will take an unholy sharp edge!! Seriously. I can't get any of my other knives to quite the same level hair whittling tp slicing sharpness that I've gotten the m4 of the GB. I still haven't done any decently hard work with it, but I promise to put it through the paces soon and give an update.

I almost drove myself nuts the week I bought it. I decided to force a patina and it was a nightmare! It took DAYS of bathing it in different acidic liquids. And still it was mottled and uneven. Then I rounded the tip and destroyed the edge on my dads worksharp because I didn't have my sharpmaker with me! Lol, whatever, I got it all straight now. Patina looking good and razor sharp!

So...I was fully expecting the GB to be my new favorite knife. It was a given! Well, guess what my new favorite knife is now?? Umm...I think it's still the pm2! As nice of a knife as the GB is, I just don't see it knocking the pm2 out of top position. So...when I ran across a friend of mine back home that mentioned he had a pm2 for sale, I asked if I could see it. And BOOM, he whips out this green KW exclusive in 204p steel. Knifeworks is located near my dads house, so theres quite a few of those knives floating around north Louisiana i guess. I told him I wanted one of those badly and he agreed to sell it to me for what he had paid. I told him they went for more than twice that on ebay, but he said who cares...enjoy it. It was still LNIB! Sweet! So yeah, I'm saying that's my new favorite!

Here's a couple of bada$$ knives! :D

dang lance that's a nice score :D I have a gayle Bradley on the way right now but that green para is sweet.

Yup, I hope that pm2 isn't supposed to be a safe queen cuz I'm about to put mine to work! Going fishing tomorrow, so I'm hopin to knock the "new" off on some fish! Gotta catch em before I can clean em though. We'll see. Either way, I'm really stoked with both of the knives. I've got them both crazy sharp now. I think the 204p steel on the pm2 definitely takes a finer edge than my pm2 in s30v. I've got both it and the GB to a level of sharpness that I couldn't achieve with s30v.

Oddly enough I prefer my GB to the PM2. Thank god Spyderco makes so many nice knives. Greats scores Surf!

Caught some nice mackerel today. Used both my new para and GB to clean the fish. Man, the GB is a nice knife. It's beautiful and feels super solid in the hand. But I continue to find myself reaching for the paramilitary. I reckon a lot of it depends on what you are using em for. For my uses the pm2 is hard to beat. I'm really impressed with that cts-204p too! Everything I was hoping for and then some!

Lance, the Para2 is a great knife (you may already know that). ;)
The knife fits comfortably in the hand and doesn't have hotspots (at least not in my use). As for the Bradley folder, yes it's a tank and it cuts crazy good too. I ended up sharpening mine to about 36 degrees inclusive and it held an edge for awhile. I added a 25 degree microbevel (per side) and it seems to cut a whole lot better.
On another note, I'm trying to talk the wife into vacationing in CR. That fishing looks to be too much fun and she's always wanted to explore the area South of the peninsula. Some day. :D

Gee, two at the same time? Dude, you're making me green with envy on the Para 2. I have both the GB & P2 and I must say, both are winners (although I don't have the green Para 2). The Bradley really is a work of art and the hollow ground blade is the first one I've found that lets me know why they actually do a hollow grind for better cutting. All the other HG blades I've used are nothing like the Bradley. Congrats!

Oddly enough I prefer my GB to the PM2. Thank god Spyderco makes so many nice knives. Greats scores Surf!

I don't think that's odd at all...GB is awesome! And were I living in a different place and using my knife for different chores then I might like it better too. For now the pm2 fits me better though. I also carry inside my waistband and the pm2 is WAY more comfortable in that carry position for me.

I do wish that the pm2 had that same "solid as a tank" feel as the gayle Bradley, but you can't have it all. :)
