Well, I finally got my Gayle Bradley last week! It's a great knife! The ergos are good and it is built really solid! I mean REALLY solid! Beautiful knife and man, that m4 will take an unholy sharp edge!! Seriously. I can't get any of my other knives to quite the same level hair whittling tp slicing sharpness that I've gotten the m4 of the GB. I still haven't done any decently hard work with it, but I promise to put it through the paces soon and give an update.
I almost drove myself nuts the week I bought it. I decided to force a patina and it was a nightmare! It took DAYS of bathing it in different acidic liquids. And still it was mottled and uneven. Then I rounded the tip and destroyed the edge on my dads worksharp because I didn't have my sharpmaker with me! Lol, whatever, I got it all straight now. Patina looking good and razor sharp!
So...I was fully expecting the GB to be my new favorite knife. It was a given! Well, guess what my new favorite knife is now?? Umm...I think it's still the pm2! As nice of a knife as the GB is, I just don't see it knocking the pm2 out of top position. So...when I ran across a friend of mine back home that mentioned he had a pm2 for sale, I asked if I could see it. And BOOM, he whips out this green KW exclusive in 204p steel. Knifeworks is located near my dads house, so theres quite a few of those knives floating around north Louisiana i guess. I told him I wanted one of those badly and he agreed to sell it to me for what he had paid. I told him they went for more than twice that on ebay, but he said who cares...enjoy it. It was still LNIB! Sweet! So yeah, I'm saying that's my new favorite!
Here's a couple of bada$$ knives!
