Got a grail today!

Nothing special about this one as far as production goes. Large 21 with Cocobolo inlays and S35VN. What does make it special is the birthday, October 31,2012. The day my daughter was born. (She will get to have some pretty cool birthday parties growing up). I've been on a hunt for any CRK made that day and finally found one in excellent condition (Thanks to Bleucosmo). This will be my new EDC and hopefully one day an heirloom to pass on to her or grandchildren.

Here she is all cleaned up and ready for the pocket life. The picture doesn't do the inlay justice, very rich dark brown and red coloring.

 
The leather lanyard, cocobolo inlays, and the bronze stud work well together. Congrats on the good find.
 
Great catch! Always wonderful to find one with the date you are looking for. Regrettably, I am still on the hunt!!!
 
Seems like birthdays are pretty much luck of the draw,,, day and month, not too bad, year might be an issue for some,,,,,, LOve Cocobolo good snag!
 
Thanks all. I forgot how much I like inlays after carrying only plain for awhile. It really fills the hand.
 
Great find. Both of my boys were born on a Friday and since they aren't open on Fridays I will have to just find the same day of the month and be happy with that. Congrats to you.
 
I also have a Lg cocobolo Sebenza on the way.
My very first CRK! I'm very excited to get it in and check it out.
Should be here by the end of the week. Pics to follow.

This one was full of luck. I did an internet search looking for a Seb with this date as I have plenty of times before. The search took me to one listed here from months ago that was sold. I messaged the buyer asking about it since he had other Sebebzas listed for sale. This one was listed for sale as well but with a date of Oct 21,2012. He happened to check and saw it was a typo. Needless to say I was pretty excited to find that out.
 
I ordered this when I found out my wife was pregnant, and got super lucky that it has the same birthday as my daughter.

Congrats on your first. Cocobolo really is a beautiful wood with great properties. Be prepared for more, they are addicting.

I'm sure they are. I was originally looking for a small Sebenza, but the Lg showed up for trade and I was fortunate enough to make a deal on it.
Now to continue the search for a small to go along with it lol. :D

Never thought of them not being open on Fridays and looking for a specific date that lands on one. Good luck finding something close!
