and I have to say that this is probably one of my favorite knives of all time. I love the ergonomics of it. I have smaller hands so it feels very natural, but I could imagine if you had larger hands then a small knife like this might not feel right.

I think I spent about 35 bucks on it, which was a really great value in my book. My only concern is that I'm not sure if you could classify this as a "push" knife or not. Technically it's just an angled fixed blade, but you could realistically use this in the same way as a push knife. So I'm not sure of the legality of it... Oh well.

Welcome to Bladeforums and the Kabar forum in p'ticular. Good to have you here. :D

How're you liking the sheath for this knife? Are you carrying it? Have you used it? All things we'd like to know. And show us some pictures of your knife, if possible.

Stick around. Lots of good folks around here. E komo mai. :)

I've got one, and I think they are something else. Its agressive angle makes for a good cutter. John Benner with TDI has been at the self defense game for a long time, and I think it would do well in a fight.

Illegal? Nope, its just an angled knife. :D I think that the grip and positioning of the blade, would allow even and amateur to have an instinctual advantage if they had to use to to defend themselves.

For me, it seem like a punch with a slight downward motion, would cause some serious havoc on someone, and for most mundane tasks, of opening and cutting down boxes, mine works pretty good. I got the blaze orange. :D

I was wanting to test it out on some deer carcass this year, but alas, work and family have staunched yet another years worth of hunting. I think I'll just start poaching. :D

I'm kidding, it ain't poaching if its farmland, right?

Bought one 2-3 years ago but gave it away. What I liked most about it was that it snugged in real tight and close on hip carry.

I had a girl like that once........

Wound up marryin' her. Now, she don't come anywhere near my hips.

I had a TDI in 3-3/8" blade length. Ended up giving it to a Navy CRT buddy of mine. I like it in either grip, but I thought it was ideal for reverse grip edge out compression cuts (this is from a guy who prefers reverse grip edge in). Saber grip worked well for my wife, who has no martial bladecraft training but does possess a desire for self-preservation.

Its been said many time before, so we won't rehash the discussion, I would never rely on a knife as a solid defense tool, but having a knife that has been designed to maximize its use in that fashion, is pretty damn cool.

These are cool. I've got one of the no-scales low profile ones on my wishlist as a hideout for the driver's seat of my truck.

I think thats the LDK, Last Ditch Knife, if memory serves. From what I can tell them puppies is small.

Damn you guys ! I have had my eye on one of these for a while now. Not sure what size to get though. Are the big ones too big ??? I am not a big guy BTW.

2 5/16" blade, 5 5/8" overall length for the one in the OP.

The Kabar TDI is the perfect size for my hands, but I do have smaller hands.... I would suggest getting the larger one if you are unsure.

This is definitely one of my favorite blades, it was also very affordable too.

This reminds me I need to post about my TDI LDK. For a backup intended to likely be snatched quickly out of its hidey hole, its a little small compared to my oven mitt hands.
