Got a new Buck today 549-

I was at the flea market this morning helping my cousin sell some of his knives. The man set up next to him had a Buck 549- knife. It has grey plastic handles. It is a folding fillet knife lockback. Would anyone know anything about them, or have used one? What are these things worth. I do not hear much about them around here. I hope I did not over pay .

John,,,no input usually means none of us have one. I doan even know what that one looks like. Too lazy to go digging through catalogues I guess.

Thanks for the info. It looks like I may have paid a little bit too much. This one is used, and I gave a $25 for it. I lost my last fillet knife and thought what would be better than a BUCK. We live and learn.

Try it in the kitchen......fillet knives are usually nicely balanced and great slicers. My old Chicago Cutlery folding fillet knife became my wife's favorite kitchen knife and now I can't get it back.

Also finally got a 121 which I wanted for the kitchen. It's really a little heavy for a fillet knife.......but it's another great kitchen knife.
