Got a new Investigator! Has the logo on it now?

I just got an SS investigator and love it. I kinda liked it plain though as I am not a fan of logos. Anyone know of anyway to remove it without damaging the finish? I would post a pic but photobucket seems to be down right now.

Also, does everyone install the included O-ring? What is it for? The cap seems secure without it.

Just roll it on...or can use say...a toothpick (dental pick), put the toothpick through the hole in the o-ring, lay the toothpick atop the threads on the pen, roll the o-ring to place.

It assists in keeping the cap in place. I have an early Investigator that shipped sans o-ring and while running today she came loose. Cap stayed clipped to pocket, pen fell into pocket.

As N2K indicated, the o-ring is a nice insurance policy against an "awe-shucks" moment of missing capdom regret syndrome (MCRS).
Great looking pen, Enjoy.

I guess this is a dumb question, but why don't they just A) Put it on from the factory or B) Make the threads more like the countycomm pen where that isn't an issue as far as needing an O -Ring?

I think it looks great with the logo. I've been keeping an eye out for a stainless investigator, thanks to your post I found one in stock and ordered it. They must have just finished a run of them.

As far as removing the logo, you may just be stuck with it. The blade logos seem to be laser applied. I'll bet you would have to grind it off and refinish the whole pen. Maybe bead blasting it would lighten it up some.

I tried the o-ring on my aluminum investigator and didn't care for it, it came right back off. Just a matter of preference I guess.

The logo is growing on me. I did get some O rings for the grip though just to experiment. About to order the flat attachment so it is more work friendly.

It's not "needed", personally I never run the o-ring, it is simply included for those that want the added security.

I put mine on and didn't like it. I cut it off. I wet and bough a pack of new ones and out one back on. ;)

I like on to help keep it closed.

glad you got the right size. the best cap for the investigators I think would be the first ones with the grooves on the cap.
