I Just bought a Mora Companion Heavy Duty MG Knife. I did this blindly. I have heard Mora is reptubule company at cheap prices so i just jumped in. What are your guys/girls thoughts on Mora knifes. I choose mora cause im trying to get a variety of steel. I have gerber, chen, cold steal, and unnamed antique steel, so i decided to go European this time. So whats the shkimmy?

Several hundred dollars in customs from makers here and I still prefer my mora companion mg. They're okay. ;)

You just about can't beat their price to value ratio. I personally think scandi grinds are only really beneficial on thin blade stock for utility purposes, so I shy away from their "heavy duty" models. But I'm sure it works just fine.

Mora is the best knife value for the money bar none. Quite frankly I would probably say that if they were twice the price. Steel is fantastic...carbon or stainless. The plastic handles are very rugged and well made as well as ergonomic. You cannot go wrong with Mora. They are kind of an addiction for some people because they are so good and so cheap. Sheaths are not very good for retention but they're better than they used to be. The plastic sheaths are not suitable for, example, military service or I think you'd see them in that role more although I think the Scandinavian countries use them. Here is what you can do for very cheap to improve on the companion sheath. This is the Companion Heavy Duty with the factory sheath to which I added a keeper.

Im not worried about the sheath, I got a leather guy that does customs, i just got one made for my gerber that does horizontal belt fit or vertical.

It nice to hear that many here on blade forums will back Moras up. Are the handles removable?

Love my moras, for the price and the abuse they can take they are second to none. Granted there are other knives that would serve a better for and extra $$$$, but hey for what you get for $10-20 they are suberb.

I just ordered a yellow stainless mora for my kayak kit, just found 2 stainless moras in my fishing bag i could have used

I've got a few Moras and, like goodeyesniper posted, the price to value is unbeatable.

I keep one in my home toolbox, one in the glove box of my UTV, one in my getaway bag, and a couple in with the rest of my knives. IMHO, these are true working knives. Not fancy, just functional.

I like 'em. Thinking about adding a "Light My Fire" to my small group of Moras. :)

I never get these kind of posts. The OP buys a knife and then thinks to ask "What's it like?"

Rather than make an otherwise empty posting, why dont you take that Mora out for a spin and then tell us what your impressions are?

Why ask an audience to tell you how YOU should feel about a knife?

I suppose you can do that when you're spending $20 or $30. Not so good if you're spending $200.

i dont get the kind of posts that contribute nothing to the thread.

my knife is in the mail so i have yet to take it for a spin. im asking for my own beifit. I ordered a knife i knew little about, as im waiting if i can put my own mind at ease, i will. If i was told the knife was crap i could cancel or plan a return.

I think I contributed more to your post that you did.

You make a post after you buy something, asking for people's opinions. You got mine.
